Marilyn Manson is an industrial rock/metal band based in Los Angeles, California. Marilyn Manson is also the stage name of Brian Warner, who founded the band.

The Marilyn Manson fan fiction community has always been fairly underground. It did start on FanFiction.net. When FanFiction.Net banned all real person fic, this community never really moved to anywhere. It's spread out between 5 or 6 sites, many hosted on their own personal webspaces. Though LiveJournal hosts the predominate communities for the fandom.

Marilyn Manson was formed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, in 1989 as "Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids." In 1992, the band's name was shortened to "Marilyn Manson." The stage names of each member of the band, initially, was a portmanteau of an iconic female like a famous model or actress and a serial killer: Marilyn Manson , Daisy Berkowitz, Olivia Newton Bundy, Zsa Zsa Speck, Madonna Wayne Gacy, Gidget Gein, Sara Lee Lucas, Twiggy Ramirez and Ginger Fish. Zim Zum, who joined the band in 1996, was the first member whose stage name didn't follow this formula. In January 2008, Manson announced on his website that Twiggy Ramirez would be joining the band for the Rape the World tour. Tim Skold departed from the band. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Manson said that the reunion will eventually result in a new album[1]. As of January 2008, the band's line-up is Marilyn Manson, Twiggy Ramirez, Ginger Fish, Chris Vrenna, Rob Holliday.

- On February 14, 2001, The Heirophant, a Marilyn Manson fansite created by Filicide went live. In addition to providing news and resources on the band and a message board, the site hosts fanart.
- The marilynxtwiggy community for Marilyn Manson/Twiggy Ramirez slash was created on February 27, 2005. It is maintained by insanitys_reign and moderated by elenlor_edhelen, insanitys_reign and x___heyfag.
- The vodka_and_pogo community for Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle and KMFDM slash was created on April 9, 2005. It is maintained by elenlor_edhelen and insanitys_reign.
- On January 12, 2008, Meathead posted a Flash cartoon featuring Marilyn Manson, Twiggy Ramirez, Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Axl Rose (Guns N Roses, Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) and Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex Guns N Roses).[2] The cartoon is a re-imagining of Twiggy's rejoining Manson.
