A/A stands for Action/Adventure. This is a header code for this genre of fiction. Its use predates 1998.

The following definition dates to May 2008 in media fandom:
- A/A = Action/Adventure -- refers to stories featuring a plot with a fair amount of physical (as in the "shoot 'em up, blow 'em up, beat 'em up" type and not the "don't come a-knockin' if the bed be a-rockin'" type!) action. [1]
