1976
From Fan History Wiki
1976 is the year of Kirk/Spock. This is the year that the this couple had a fanzine dedicated to their relationship. This happened with Gerry Downes's Alternative: The Epilog to Orion. This year also brought us one of the first fully developed short stories featuring Kirk/Spock. This story was written by Leslie Fish and was titled “Shelter.” Both of these events would shape the nature and production of future Kirk/Spock fanzines and stories.
This year also marks the start of a trend in the anime community. This trend involved fen growing tired of the corporate and national control of anime. Fen decided to resolve this by creating their own conventions. The first one they created in Japan was the Comic Market. Its first chairperson was Harad Teruo. [1]
