1995 rolled around. Things felt were happening in the anime and comic book fan fiction communities. Outside those larger groups not much seemed to be happening anywhere else that would cause an impact on the greater fannish community.

Sailor Moon was dubbed into English and aired on American television for the first time in 1995. This event triggered the start of the second of the first two truly big, truly net based fan fiction communities. Before the show even hit the air waves, a net based cultured formed. This was seen with the creation of alt.fan.sailor-moon in July.

Others part of the anime fan fiction grew this year with a number of key events happening. In August, the FFML was created. This list would turn out to be a hugely influential force, driving the direction that the anime fan fiction community would go. Also in August, Anipike was created. The goal was to create a large link repository for people to be able to quickly locate resources related to their shows. A lot of these links included links to fan fiction archives. Katsucon Ichi was held this year. It was one of the first major anime conventions in the United States to have a panel on fan fiction. The discussion of this material inspired many fen to go home and write their own material and to open their own fan fiction archives.

The comic book fan fiction community began to refine their net presence. Hawk's X-Men Archive opened this year, the first big X-Men archive on the web, accepting all X-Men stories posted on the related Usenet group. The archive would only be open for one year before closing but the effect would be felt on the archive for years. Avengers Assemble also opened this year with a fan fiction section that will eventually spin off to become Marvel Volume One. The UUFFAAs would be awarded this year. While multifandom, a good chunk of the award categories were aimed at comic book based fan fiction.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. fan fiction community got on-line this year. The Channel_D mailing list was created in this community and would be a mainstay of the community for many years.

The Rescue Rangers fan fiction community was getting on-line this year. While the community had been publishing zines since 1991, it would take until 1995 before they made the crossover. The first story to be posted was novel length and had Chip/Dale overtones.
