Below is a list of terms and their definitions that are used in this fan fiction community.
- Day One/Two/Three etc - Basically, these are the different seasons of 24. Day One is Season One, Day Two is Season Two.
- Cubby - A white Chicago Cubs mug belonging to Tony Almeida. Last seen in Season Five. A story about the mug is that it was meant to be destroyed in the Season Two bombing of CTU, but survived being chucked into the air by Carlos Bernard, who plays Tony Almeida.
- CTU - The Counter Terrorist Unit. This is where Jack Bauer and many other characters worked during the first six seasons. The CTU branch in 24 was the Los Angeles branch.
- Behroozed - If a character is Behroozed, it means that they have vanished from the storyline with no explanation (at least, no canon explanation) of what happened to them. named after Season Four character Behrooz Araz.
- Black Queen - A nickname for Nina Myers, arguably the most evil and influential villian on 24.
- Y/X - If you see something like Jack/Nina, Tony/Michelle, Bill/Karen, it's a ship between Jack and any other character. Usually, an individual fan will have his/her favourite ship. The three listed above tend to be the most popular, along with Jack/Chloe and Jack/Audrey.
- Spawn - a nickname sometimes given to Kim Bauer by 24 fans.
- Soul Patch - a nickname given to Tony Almeida due to his facial hair in Season One.

Below is a partial timeline of events that took place in the 24 fan fiction community.

- On April 13, 2002, While my wife and I were separated... by Carmabaeji - Lively Aria was published on FanFiction.Net. [1] It was the first 24 story published on the site.

- On December 7, 2003, the LiveJournal community 24_fanfic was founded. It was dedicated to 24 fan fiction. [2]

- On June 2, 2004, the LiveJournal community 24_ficlets was created. It was dedicated to 24 fan fiction. [3]
[edit] 2005
- On March 1, 2005, the multifandom cop show themed LiveJournal community copshows was created. It represented several fandoms including this one. [4]
- On July 10, 2005, the LiveJournal community 24femmeslash was created. It was dedicated to 24 saffic. [5]

- In January 2007, after reports came out that Muslims were offended as being always portrayed as terrorist on the show, the community discussed this. It upset some members of the fandom because they saw some of the comments as fundamentally racist. [7]
