[edit] Introduction

Ace Lightning is a television show consisting of thirty-nine episodes. Extracanonical sources include a video game, short books, and emails from Rick Sigglekow, one of the creators. [1]

It chronicles the story of Mark Hollander, a young English boy whose family have recently moved to England. Cliched videogame characters materialise in the real world as he games during a thunderstorm, and he assists the game's hero to save the world. The show debunks the cliches to a certain extent, developing the animated characters as they learn to exist in the real world, and involves various rather questionable fanon pairing possibilities. Ace Lightning, the title character, is the programmed hero of the game, whose naivete and kindness show as he advances from creation to person. The fans tend to prefer the animated adult characters to the human teenagers; inventing backstories for their adventures in the Sixth Dimension is a common topic in fanfic.

[edit] Kerfluffles

There are very few "ship wars" in the Ace Lightning fandom due to obvious canon pairings, however there is some disagreement over the likelihood of possible pairings such as Random Virus/Sparx. Lord Fear/Sparx was a popular RP pairing.
