Andromeda UK was formed on the 28th September 2000 by Katana, in anticipation of the new series Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, airing on Sky One.
Katana also ran the now closed Andromeda UK fan site.

On September 28, 2000, the Andromeda mailing list AndromedaUK was created. [1] It was for fans of the show living in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
As of January 18, 2008, it had 175 members [2] and only 7 new posts in the whole of 2007. [3]

In the early days the members included several interesting personalities who made for some lively and interlectual discussions. However, as the show progressed and was no longer shown on Sky One the membership declined and the debate ceased.
The Group's Motto, thanks to Mac... "We disagree but the freedom to disagree is important. I want no blind conformity here! ;-)"
