arby_m, also known as arby or _arby_, is a multi-fandom fic writer. She has been participating in fandom since 1996.

Below is a partial timeline of this author's involvement in fandom.
- 1996: began posting on alt.tv.x-files on Usenet.
- 1997: joined The Order of the Blessed Saint Scully the Enigmatic (OBSSE).
- ca. 2002: participated in the many Buffista threads on Salon's Table Talk forums as "arby".
- 2003 - 2006: active on the Phoenix Board (BtVS/Angel discussion board, later expanded to include other fandoms).
- pre. 2004: active on Television Without Pity forums for Veronica Mars, The Office (US), Arrested Development and Lost.
- January 2005: joined Livejournal, originally to read Cleolinda's Lost recaps.
- August 2005: joined Wraithbait as arby.
- October 2005 - present: active in Supernatural and Stargate Atlantis fandoms on Livejournal.
- late 2005/early 2006: changed LJ username to arby_m.
- 2007: joined JournalFen for fandom_wank.
- May 2007: created petrelli_ot3 community on livejournal for Nathan/Peter/Claire fanfic.
