BandCon is described as "a fan-driven convention which means it's put together by fans for fans" and for "all corners of Bandom". By the livejournal community's profile it appears to be primarily for fans involved in bandom (exclusive use). It is organized by blossyn and playfullips.[1]

- Public discussion about BandCon began on January 17, 2008 with a survey on possible convention dates.[2]
- BandCon '08 is scheduled to take place July 25 - July 27, 2008 at the Wyndham Glenview Suites in Glenview, Illinois, in the Chicago area.
