This movie was released in 1987. There hasn't been much said about this fandom, other than it exists somewhere. In 1990, there was debate about the creation of the following Usenet groups: rec.arts.sf-creative, rec.arts.sf-creative.d. Some of the fandoms that were suggested as being served by the creation of these groups included Star Trek, Doctor Who, Dune, Buck Rogers and Berserker. This seems to suggest this fandom's existence.
