Black Sheep Squadron was in its original run on television from 1976 to 1978. The fandom was probably active during the 1980s. What this fandom was doing and who was involved is still relatively unknown. The community was involved in the support of several fanzines during this period and the 1990s. One example of a fanzine was The G-2 Files. This fanzine was dedicated to World War II television shows, and ceased publication of new issues in 1998. The zine had, since at least 1994, published stories from the Garrison’s Gorillas, Combat!, Twelve O’Clock High, Rat Patrol, Black Sheep Squadron fan fiction communities.
