- On July 16, 2002, Surpresa da Noite by Adriana Adurens became the first Portuguese language Yami no Matsuei story published on FanFiction.Net. [2]
- On September 4, 2002, the Portuguese language mailing list grupoinvaders was created. [3]

- On January 26, 2006, Se Eu Fosse Você? by Brasi Blue was posted on FanFiction.Net. It was the first Portuguese language story posted on the site. [4]
- On April 14, 2006, Batwoman: a lenda da herdeira de Gotan e Themícera by Leticia Naegino became the first Portuguese language Justice League story published on FanFiction.Net. [5][6]

- On July 10, 2007, Lamentos ao Vento by Haine II became the first Portuguese language Fafner in the Azure story published on FanFiction.Net. [7]

- By 2008, there was a problem with child pornography trading on orkut in the Brazilian community. It was so bad that some Brazilians ask child porn peddlers not to contact them in their public profile. Such behavior has, on other sites like MySpace, pushed fandom underground or off the site in response as many young members of fandom do not feel comfortable in that environment. [8]

- On August 18, 2000, the X-Men movie premiered in theaters in Brazil, Iceland and UK. [9]
- On September 13, 2000, Queer as Folk, the British version, premiered on television in Brazil. [10]
