CBFFAs
From Fan History Wiki
In March, 1998, the CBFFAs were first awarded. The awards were given out through Comic Book Fan-fiction Author's Network (CFAN) to authors in the comic book fandom. This was the first major award to be given out in the comic book fan fiction fandom.
From 1998 to 2002, the CBFFAs were held and the results posted on CFAN. An awards "ceremony" was written for the event, set in a variety of comics fanfiction settings including Subreality. The event was organised by several writers over the years, specifically Kielle, Matt Nute and Dex.
In 2003, following the closing of CFAN, the CBFFAs were run by Mike Smith, with hosting by Alara Rogers. They were not archived, but posted directly to the Outside The Lines mailing list. (note: must be subscribed to read)
Controversy surrounded the 2003 awards, and these were to be the last CBFFAs.
