[edit] Introduction
Clamp (usually rendered CLAMP) is an all-female group of Japanese manga artists. Originally founded in 1989 as an eleven-member doujinshi circle, they had their professional debut with the ten-volume manga RG Veda, at which time the circle had already diminished to seven. During RG Veda's production, three more women left the group, so only the four current members, Ageha Ohkawa (stories & scripts), Mokona (art), Tsubaki Nekoi (art) and Satsuki Igarashi (art), remained. CLAMP are known worldwide for mangas as diverse as Angelic Layer, Card Captor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, Chobits, X, and currently Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and xxxHOLiC.
