• Clex combines the first two letters of Clark Kent's name and last two letters in Lex Luthor's name together.

• Clex is mainly used in the Smallville fandom. However it can also incorporate fanworks produced back on the Superman fandom as it exists elsewhere in comics and film, but the community primarily evolved out of the Smallville first season which began airing in 2001.
