Card Captor Sakura is an manga series created by Clamp which was later made into an anime. The America version of the show, Card Captors, is very different than the original. Two of the main characters of CCS, Kinomoto Sakura and Syaoran Li, are now two of the main characters in Clamp's newest work Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE.[edit] Terminology

- On March 21, 2000, Card Captor Sakura ended its original run on television in Japan. [3]
- On October 24, 2000, the fansite Kawaii Sakura Shrine was created. It was originally hosted on GeoCities. [4]

- On January 29, 2001, the LiveJournal community Yuri was founded. It was dedicated to f/f anime pairings (also called yuri). Fan fiction communities represented included this one.

- On April 27, 2002, an English language article about Card Captor Sakura was created on Wikipedia. [5]
- On August 12, 2002, the LiveJournal community badfic was founded. The purpose of the community was to mock badfic and share horror stories from reading in the field. Members were also allowed to write their own badfic as a medium of discussing other badfic. By November of 2003, the community would be discussing Card Captor Sakura fics.

- On September 3, 2003, the LiveJournal community Tsukimine Shrine was founded by influential writer mellowcandle, also known as [6] L-chan on fanfiction.net. The community was created to analyze and discuss the CCS characters and issue weekly challenges, which lasted for nearly two years before all creative contributors were burned out. Fanfic is still occasionally posted as of January 19, 2008.
- On August 9, 2003, the image fansite CardcaptorSakuraImages was last updated. [7]

- On February 3, 2004, the mailing list newtrialsring was created. [8]
- On November 18, 2004, the LiveJournal community cardcaptorsfans was created. [9]

- On May 29, 2006, the LiveJournal community 30_dreams was created. [10] It was created so authors could explore the "kiss theme." Fandoms represented by this community include but are not limited to: Card Captor Sakura, Final Fantasy VII, Gravitation, House M.D., Kingdom Hearts, Kyou Kara Maou, Mulan, Yu Yu Hakusho.

The New Trials of Card Captor Sakura and Friends is the longest Story on FanFiction.Net. Though first updated on FF.net in 2001, writer Wish-Chan has been working on it since 1999. While not the most reviewed story on there, it has gathered a large following from fans in the Yahoo group The New Trials Fan Community. It is also one of the few stories from that fandom that continues from the anime/manga.
