Anyone who was born or grew up in the 1980s, doesn't know about Care Bears, originally appearing as characters on greeting cards, later spawned a line of toys, an animated series, and several animated movies.
[edit] The cartoon and canon
The Care Bears live in "Care-a-Lot", a magical land above Earth, their mission is spread and teach values such as happiness, empathy, charity, sharing, love, and peace to the world, mostly to children, they also use their powers to battle villians such as Professor Coldheart, No-Heart, Dark Heart, etc. Each of the Care Bears has a different "tummy symbol" which relects their name and personality.
Also included are the Care Bear Cousins, their allies who live in the "Forest of Feelings", near Care-A-Lot, who are each a different species of animal, but serve the same purpose as the Care Bears.
