Category talk:Digimon pairings

[edit] Category?
Should this be put into Category:Digimon Terminology? -Jae 15:01, 19 December 2007 (CST)
- Ummm. I would be inclined to go with no. A number of categories have pairing categories. Ex.: Category:CSI_pairings. It is a place to stick shipping related articles. Those shipping articles can be sorted in ship specific sub categories or in the general category. There really is no uniform thing at the moment. I put some of the terms in the Category:Digimon terminology just because I was moving them out of the Category:Terminology category and it still made them accessible to people looking for them in that direction...
- In the end, you're the major editor in that category and know the fandom a lot better than me so whatever works for you is good with me. :) --Laura 15:29, 19 December 2007 (CST)
- You bring up some good points, but I still wonder if, since new words were created, pairing name portmanteaus should be considered terminology. Blarg. I'll stew over it a bit longer and ask the rest of the fandom what they think. -Jae 11:51, 2 January 2008 (CST)
- Ok, for the time being, I'll put pairing names into both categories. -Jae 14:17, 4 January 2008 (CST)
- Fandom can be really confusing. :/ We really need a whole comprehensive help section on how to deal with shipping related issues because I can't see this getting any better. And if done wrong, it may open it up to a lot of ship related wank. (And then, when a policy is finalized, some one needs to tackle the Harry Potter section which is equally problematic. Ick.) --Laura 15:52, 4 January 2008 (CST)
[edit] Redundant terms?
Since each relationshop has two names (ie, Daiken and Kensuke), there are two articles for practically every couple. Is this redundant? Can they safely be combined into one article each? Or is the seme/uke dynamics enough to warrant separate articles? -Jae 15:25, 4 January 2008 (CST)
- Don't know enough about the words to know. :/ As I'm going to guess that the names are pretty standard for the ships and there isn't the variation in other fandoms, I've no problems with merging and doing redirects. I just yeah, I don't know enough about seme/uke to have an opinion that I think is meaningful. Getting that category cleaned out and better organized would be nice. :) A lot of the redundant names came over as I have a fan fiction dictionary dating back to when parts of this project were on FanFiction.Net and I just copy and pasted them on over. --Laura 15:40, 4 January 2008 (CST)
