[edit] General biography
Chael Hall is a server administrator and software engineer who has been involved with the X-Files community since 1995. He first became involved with the fannish community when he offered to host an X-Files episode discussion list ( X-Files) for refugees from the alt.tv.x-files flame wars in 1995. He then became involved in the fan fiction community when he offered to host a companion posting list (X-Files Fan Fiction) for alt.tv.x-files.creative in 1996. His privately-owned server, chaos.x-philes.com, was the primary list server for the X-Files community until the migration to ONElist/Egroups began in 1998.
In early 1997, he helped redevelop the database and HTML page generation scripts for the Gossamer archive. In mid 1997, he began to host a Gossamer site (Gossamer X-Philes) on his server. In late 1997, he developed a new set of file processing scripts to further aid in the support of the Gossamer archive, as well as a basic search engine.
From 1997 through today, he has been one of the primary archivists for the Gossamer archives and has continued maintaining and upgrading the scripts which help run Gossamer.
