[edit] General biography

While not a pioneer of fan fiction or FanFiction.net, Chaos Dragon holds the distinction of being the one of the very first fic writers to inaugurate the Anita Blake series (Laurell K. Hamilton) into the world of fandom. Within of month of her joining Chaos Dragon had posted several well received oneshots for the fandom before taking the chance to branch out into her first chaptered fic. I Do was a very short fic on all counts, but set the stage for a six part series that took her years to complete. At that time the author of the series had asked for the category to be removed, and Chaos Dragon moved all of her Anita Blake fic to Pomme de Sang [link] and from there to the sister site, Sourdre de Sang [link] which was invitation only, thus sealing her place as one of the top writers for the Anita Blake fandom.

She continued to work on her Till Death Do We Part series and by the final installment as well as the single chaptered fic she wrote for the fandom after that, had matured enough in her writing that she began considering branching out into other fandoms. Despite heavy interest in the Harry Potter fandom and a few fledgling plots detailed for the Draco/Hermione pairing, Chaos Dragon shied away from writing them. Subsequent plots for Teen Titans and the short lived TV show She Spies were also laid aside when she was introduced to a single fic that would forever change her fandom forever.

She found the Phandom.

Introduced to the extraordinary oneshot, Running Blind [link] by Dejah Thoris of Mars, Chaos Dragon immediately found herself drawn to the plot lines for the children's show Danny Phantom. To say that she had found the fandom she wanted is an understatement, and within three days of reading her first DP fic, Chaos Dragon had penned a short oneshot entitled Wild Rose and the another, much longer, entitled Riding the Edge. Initially nervous at the prospect of moving to a new fandom, seeking a new audience as well as taking her second word for said new fandom and turning it into an expose on the practice of cutting, Chaos Dragon was well recieved and proceeded to launch into several new ventures for Danny Phantom.

Despite her contentment in the Phandom, Chaos Dragon has continued to spread her wings and expore new fandoms. She's posted for Teen Titans, The Neverending Story as well as The Looking Glass Wars, not to mention new ventures into Bleach. She's currently participating in Nano 2008 with a Bleach plot as her intended subject, having made the decision to split her time between Danny Phantom and Bleach.

  • On April 10, 2006 it was discovered that Chaos Dragon was a victim of a plagiarism by Narcissus in Chains.
  • It's a little known fact that Chaos Dragon wrote two Backstreet Boys stories before ever realizing that fanfiction was such a popular notion. She still has the files and considers posting them on a regular basis. That fact that she didn't practice the atrocious habit of self insertion gives her a modicum of relief when she considers her fangirl tendencies during her teens.
  • Chaos Dragon has long felt that Danny Phantom would be better suited to a young adult fan base such as the majority of manga in Japan is geared to. This is one reason why she chooses to write mature/NC-17 ratings.

[edit] Awards

Over the course of her ten years fan writing for the Anita Blake series, Chaos Dragon honed her talent into a skill. During 2005 the Pomme de Sang FanFiction Awards [63] were created, with Chaos Dragon nominated in several categories. Each nomination subsequently placed in the top three garnering her several fan given awards and the recognition of her fellow writers.

  • In Best Overall Chaos Dragon won 3rd place with her Till Death Do We Part Series. [64]
  • In Best Long Fic Chaos Dragon won 2nd place with The Elevator Diaries. [65]
  • In Best Romance Chaos Dragon won 1st place with The Elevator Diaries. [66]
  • In Best Humor Chaos Dragon won 1st place with Jean-Claude Gets a Tan. [67]
  • In Best Hetero Smut Chaos Dragon won 2nd place with The Elevator Diaries. [68]

Because of a several year break in writing due to real life commitments, Chaos Dragon has always considered these wins to be special. Likewise they hold a special place because she left the Anita Blake fandom for an extended sabbatical only a year after they were held.

In the now defunct Danny Phantom FanFic Awards, Chaos Dragon was also nominated in several categories.
