Citrus refers to Lime and Lemon stories. Citrus stories have some sort of relationship, romantic or sexual. This term is used in Anime fandoms.

Citrus: Fanfiction that is lemon, lime or grapefruit. In other words, sex is involved.[1]

The following definition dates to September 2003 in the Kingdom Hearts fandom:

Citrus: Huggy-kissy-cuddly stuff. Light romance. [2]

The following term dates to 2005 in the Sherlock Holmes fandom:

Citrus - A 'light' romantic interlude with handholding, cuddling, kissing, etc. [3]

The following definition dates to May 2006 in the anime fandom:

Refers to works which include lemony or lime-ish content (hence the term!)[4]

The following definition dates to September 2006 in anime fandom:

Citrus - making out, kissing, groping, oral; pretty much everything short of penetration. [5]
