Timeline
Below is a partial timeline of this person's involvement in fandom.
- On April 13, 2001, Coffeeandink created her LiveJournal account using her distinctive first name as her LiveJournal name. [1] Until March of 2009, she used her last name in public posts on her LiveJournal, and sometimes her middle name as well, whenever she was scheduled to appear on a panel at a science fiction convention or whenever a story published under her legal name was about to appear on the web or in print.
- In 2007, K. Tempest Bradford linked Coffeeandink's legal name and her LiveJournal at Fantasy Magazine. [2]
- On January 19, 2009, Coffeeandink wrote a LiveJournal posted titled "Will Shetterly: DO NOT ENGAGE". [3][4] [citation dead link] Will Shetterly alleged that this post "cherry-picked quotes and framed them to make me look like I was saying things I was not. In the comments there, veejane, icecreamempress, vom_marlowe, and others speculated with great fail about my life." [5] [citation dead link]
- On January 24, 2009, Will Shetterly learned about coffeeandink’s post. He claimed that because he was banned from her site, he wrote "annotating madness' . [6][citation dead link] [7][citation dead link]
- On February 24, 2009, Will Shetterly, "thinking about how freely my critics made assumptions about me, I googled a few of their names and “class”, then wrote looking at a few of my critics, champions of the upper class, At that time, I hadn’t known [redacted] was hiding her last name. When I googled “[redacted] coffeeandink” to be sure I remembered it correctly, it came up in the first few hits, probably because “she “outed” herself” long ago." [8][citation dead link]
- On February 26, 2009, Coffeeandink wrote Will Shetterly, saying she wished to keep her last name private. So Will Shetterly removed it, then blogged about it to be clear about what he had done. [9][citation dead link] [10][citation dead link]
- On March 7, 2009, Coffeeandink wrote, "Please also explain how I was hiding my identity ... with a user profile that lists my very identifiable first name, in a post that is signed with my very identifiable first name." [11]
- During March, 2009, Coffeeandink changed her LiveJournal name and removed all public appearances of her last name from her journal. K. Tempest Bradford removed the link connecting Coffeeandink's legal and LiveJournal identities from the Fantasy Magazine site. Will Shetterly removed all mention of her first and last name from his blogs.
- After they had done that, on March 30, 2009, Coffeeandink hotlinked her legal name to her LiveJournal at Jane Austen's World. [12]
