Parts of the Website
The Complete Clue Guide is split into two parts: Site Information and Content. The Site Information includes an introduction, news page, FAQ and weblinks page. The Content provides pages about the board game, books, card game, characters, downloads, DVD and iPod/iPhone games, fanfiction, history of the game, international versions, movie and reviews.
History
The Complete Clue Guide has been notably plagiarized since 2000, when it underwent a major overhaul. Images, information and multimedia were regularly taken from the website and claimed to be the "property" of other Clue websites.
1999
- In 1999, The Complete Clue Guide was created. The quality of the webdesign made it a model for other Clue websites.
2000
- In late 2000, The Complete Clue Guide was revamped and expanded.
2003
- The Complete Clue Guide held the only ever Clue fanfiction contest. The object of the contest was to solve Murder Out Of Doors [1], widely regarded as the most difficult Clue mystery fanfic ever written. Over 100 fans entered and the first participant to correctly solve the mystery received a new copy of the last Clue book to be released, Footprints in the Fog.
2005
- In late 2005 Kenneth Hand closed The Complete Clue Guide, citing that he had lost interest in maintaining the website, but it was rumoured that Hand told J. Matthew Horton that he was struggling with the newer generation of Clue websites stealing his content.
2009
- The Complete Clue Guide was reopened in December 2009 with a completely new format, coding, and nearly twice the content, in time for its 10th anniversary.
