The following definition dates to December 2005 in the Harry Potter fandom:
- cookie - A teaser for a longer fic, or a fic that is pretty short on its own. The FictionAlley Cookie Jar features cookies from a wide range of fics for you to sample - from there, you can follow the author's link to the fic itself! Some authors release cookies regularly, others do it to promote a certain chapter or event.[1]
