[edit] Introduction
The Crossover FanFiction Archive, or CFA, is a fan fiction archive that welcomes all crossover stories. There are no requirements for stories to involve a specific fandom or ship, and all submissions are automatically accepted.
[edit] The Archivists
Celeste is the archive's administrator. Mris and missjasadin are volunteer moderators.
[edit] Archive Policies
CFA only archives crossover fan fiction, although inter-universe crossovers are allowed (Buffy/Angel). The archive respects the wishes of any creator who does not allow fan fiction based on their properties. The archive has, to date, chosen not to host RPF to avoid libel. Adult content is allowed, but are marked with several warnings to prevent younger readers from accidentally stumbling across inappropriate content. Stories containing sexual situations between minors and adults are not allowed. Plagiarism is a banning offense.
[edit] Archive History
Around June of 2006, Celeste began to notice that the large crossover archives available for user-submitted fan fics were created for a specific base fandom, such as Buffy or Stargate SG-1. Other archives that had a crossover section lumped stories together under general categories. Celeste decided to create a crossover archive that was non-fandom specific, and where every fandom had its own category for easy browsing.
July 26: the domain for the Crossover Fanfiction Archive, also known as CFA, was registered and the archive itself was created with EFiction. The first story posted was The Other Half by CFA's creator Celeste.
July 27: a call for moderators was posted in the news section of the archive, and another post was made at the Livejournal community, Crossoverfic. Mris and missjasadin volunteered. Soon afterwards, the first sub categories and character lists were added.
July 28: CFA's forums were created for authors to request new categories and character lists.
July 29: CFA officially goes online.
Between February and March of 2007, CFA experienced a surge in spam accounts in both the archive and the forums. In response, Celeste implemented the CAPTCHA System for new account registration and anonymous reviews on March 5.
[edit] Archive Funding
All costs are paid out of pocket by Celeste.
[edit] Archive Size
At time of writing, Crossover FanFiction Archive has 232 members, 249 stories and 87 authors.
