"DA Family" is short for Daisuke Asakura Family. The term was taken from Tetsuya Komuro, who used "TK Family" for the same idea. "DA Family" has one song credited to it: "Mickey Mouse Club March" from the album "We Love Mickey." It consists of various artists for whom Daisuke Asakura produced. Most artists in DA family were signed to the record label Antinos. When Sony Music of Japan downsized taking Antinos Records with it many of the artists were scattered to different labels and thus ended DA Family. The term is now used by Daisuke Asakura to reflect on his "family" which consists of his dogs and himself. The qualifications for DA Family is to have been produced by him; although technically Hiroyuki Takami is not considered due to the time frame of access having broken up during that time. DA family consists of artists he produced though it does not include artists he composed for.
DA Family fandom is where fans of artists who belonged to DA family, as well as fans of artists he composed for, come together. Many DA Family fans are carried over from Gravitation fandom. Because of the diversity of DA family many fans clash on ideas. Even if an artist is no longer associated with DA they are still welcome to talk about said artist. The livejournal for the fandom was created on October 26th 2003. Its popularity took off after the DA Family Forums crashed. Although there has been a new DA Family Forum created, it doesn't enjoy the success the orginal one had.
