Daikari is a term used to refer to a story involving a romantic relationship between Davis (Motomiya Daisuke) and Kari (Yagami Hikari) in Digimon. It usage predates 2000. This couple is also called Dari and its origins come from Daisuke's (obvious) crush on Hikari early on in the series. Though debatable by fans, many claim that Daisuke dropped his crush on Hikari sometime before the end on the show.

Since Daikari competed against Takari, the most popular het couple of the series, many stories involving this couple would often get flamed. The flaming of these stories eventually lead to the bashing of Takaishi Takeru, Daisuke's "competitor" for Hikari's affection. The bashing of these two characters lead to a Flame war among its fans from late 2004 to early 2005. The resulting action caused several stories to be deleted(turning the review pages into all out forums) and users to get their accounts banned on fanfiction.net.
