- W.T.F.B, a Disney Afternoon fanzine, was created, in response to the cancellation of the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers comic series. It was published in December of 1992.
- In December 1996, TheICON Issue #20 was published.
- On December 30, 2001, Cassandra Claire published the first of her Very Secret Diaries. [1]
- Between December 18, 2001 and the end of the year, FanFiction.Net’s total number of Lord of the Rings stories climbed to 135. Seventeen stories or fifteen percent were slash. [2]
- On December 30, 2002, the LiveJournal community slashed_hp was created. [3]
- In November 2002, the harry_potter_slash mailing list was founded. This list saw its volume peak in December of 2004.
- Around December 30, 2006, la_folle_allure created a Supernatural hatememe that was quickly deleted. Before it was deleted, many fen expressed unhappiness about its existence. [4][5]
