- On July 25, 2001, the LiveJournal community degrassi was created. [1]
- On October 14, 2001, Degrassi: The Next Generation premiered on television in Canada. [2]

- On June 29, 2002, Degrassi: The Next Generation premiered on television in France. [3]
- On October 13, 2002, the Degrassi mailing list Degrassi_next was created. [4]
