Dumas1 is a site and forum moderator at MediaMiner.Org. He has judged many fanfiction contests at the site, including the annual Maximum Challenge Fan Fiction Contest in 2007 and the majority of the quarterly Mini-Fiction Contests. He has produced a small amount of fanfiction, primarily one-shots that are allegedly comedic.

Dumas1 is a mysterious lurker about whose real life almost nothing is known except that he is an Asian Southerner Grammar Nazi. Most of his fanfiction output has been in relatively small anime fandoms such as Silent Mobius and Rose of Versailles. Because of this, and his low output, he is a complete unknown in fandom. Recently, he has begun to shift from writing fanfiction to original work.
Contrary to the pattern commonly observed among American anime fans, Dumas1 is professedly a mild Anglophile and affects many 'British' conventions of spelling and grammar, including the use of quotation marks. This is occasionally remarked on as 'incorrect' by other Grammar Nazis.
Dumas1 has stated that he considers the practice of 'shipping' to be juvenile and 'pointless.' In addition, his body of work is too small to derive any distinct shipping patterns. However, his 'comedy' often involves unusual pairings, such as Setsuna/Ninth Doctor (Sailor Moon and Doctor Who) or Aragorn with Denethor and Boromir (Lord of the Rings; at different times, obviously). However, the majority of his fics are so-called 'gen fic.'
Tagged as the 'Lazy Mod' on the MediaMiner.org forums, he is responsible for the Fan Fiction and writing forums in addition to his duties on the site proper. The only sign that he holds this position is the sudden locking of threads whose topics violate the rules of the forum. He is also a member of the Featured Fan Fiction and Mini-Contest judging committees.
