On July 22, 2001, FictionAlley.Org, a fan fiction archive, opened. It would become one of the most influential Harry Potter fan fiction archives. Cassandra Claire's fan fiction was archived here and the site was closely associated with her and Heidi8. It opened one month after Cassandra Claire got kicked off FanFiction.Net for plagiarism; allegations that FictionAlley.Org was founded specifically due to her removal have followed the site ever since.[1]

When the site was founded, it allegedly plagiarized FanFiction.Net's terms of service.[2] Shortly before the site was founded, Flourish, who maintained FanFiction.Net's terms of service, resigned and was removed from FanFiction.Net's staff. Heidi8 responded to these accusations of plagiarism.[3]

It was described as the following by Jessica Tiffin of the University of Capetown[4]:

http://www.fictionalley.org Harry Potter fanfic. Schnoogle is novel-length, Astronomy Tower is romance, Riddiklus is comedy, Dark Arts is angsty. Generally higher quality than Fanfiction.net. For more transgressive Harry Potter fic, try Weasleycest: I recommend Cassie Claire's "Mortal Instruments", for explicit erotic (NC 17 rating) plus a nasty sting in the tail.
