FX: The Series was cancelled after two seasons. It was only after the show was cancelled that a fan fiction community for the show began to emerge. [1] Many fans wrote fan fiction out of a desire to explore things not answered by the show.

Below is a list of terms and their definitions that are used in this fan fiction community.

BTS: Stands for Before Television Series: Story takes place before the events in the series premiere. [2]
BSS: Stands for Before Second Season: Story takes place before the beginning of the 2nd season. [3]
BRS: Stands for Before Red Storm: Story takes place before the end of the 2nd season. [4]
PRS: Stands for Post Red Storm: Story takes place after the episode "Red Storm," the series finale. [5]
AU: Stands for Alternate Universe: Story takes place in a 'universe' where some or all of the events of the series may not have taken place. [6]
