- On February 8, 1997, the Sailor Moon anime ended in Japan with its 200th and final episode.
- On February 8, 1998 Natasha Kashefipour started a message board named Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. This name will eventually be changed to The Acorn Café, and become the seat of the fandom to the present day.
- Hyacinth Gardens [12] was founded on February 8, 2002, and has over 3,200 members worldwide (adults only) as of January 15, 2007. Fanfic encompasses all Jane Austen novels and characters and general discussion.

- On February 14, 1998, an innocent post on the new Acorn Café accidentally sets off "Ranger War II", this one given the informal name "The St. Valentine's Day Massacre". Briefer than the first, the final concensus on the Chip/Gadget relationship is that neither side on the "Pro Vs. Anti" debate had a majority and that arguing about such matters was not constructive. This was the final "Ranger War".

- On February 27, 2000, Between by ebonbird became the first Gatchaman story published on FanFiction.Net. [66]
- On February 27, 2004, an article about Black Cat was created on Wikipedia. [67]

- On February 27, 2005, the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Angel MySpace group keishahosler was created. [69]
- The marilynxtwiggy community for Marilyn Manson/Twiggy Ramirez slash was created on February 27, 2005. It is maintained by insanitys_reign and moderated by elenlor_edhelen, insanitys_reign and x___heyfag.
- On February 27, 2005, the MySpace group startrekds9 was created. [70]

- On February 28, 2001, the granger-weasley mailing list was founded. This list, dedicated to the Ron/Hermione ship, had its volume peaked around June of 2002.
- On February 28, 2005, the LiveJournal community spoilerjunkies was founded as a place to post and discuss spoilers and speculations for upcoming episodes of the show.
- On February 28, 2005, the Aerosmith LiveJournal community aerosmithicons was created. [74]
- On February 28, 2006, the LiveJournal Weeds fanfic community weeds_fic was created. [75]
- On February 28, 2006, the CSI LiveJournal community csi_gazette was created. [76]
- On February 28, 2007, Philip Mak, the owner of The Shoujo Ai Archive[77] and Yuricon [78] pages, died from a cerebral hemorrhage.
- February 28, 2007 saw the celebration of the 5th Annual Golden Acorn Awards. The event saw so many Rangerphiles attempting to log onto the Café that the boards suffered a crash which lasted about an hour before being restored. This only acted to grow the anticipation of said awards, and the wait was well worth it. The awards saw the first five-way multiple tie (for Best Original Female Character), as well as close contests and multiple winners in many categories.
- Also on February 28, 2007, the Acorn Café, principle seat of the Rangerdom, set an attendance record of 35 individuals on the board at a single time. This record was set at 9:31 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and replaced the old record of 29 set during the previous Golden Acorn Awards.
