- In September 1989, in the Midlands of England, a Doctor Who fan club was formed. It was called SRS. It produced a fanzine which had examples of fan fiction. The fanzine was called Think Tank. (Matthew Newton)
- In September 1994, Rutgers www.bedlam.rutgers.edu/xfiles/mcgrew was founded. This site was listed as the Cool Site of the Day for September 26, 1994.
- By 1995, the term beta reading was evolving. The concept of beta versions and beta reading was beginning to be used by a few communities. There is documentation that the anime fan fiction community was using the term beta version on FFML by September of this year. There is some evidence that the term betareading was being used in the context that other communities would begin to use in a few months.
- On September 26, 1998, the mailing list MSR4eva was created. [1]
- Star Trek: Enterprise premiered on UPN on September 26, 2001.
- On September 26, 2002, the LiveJournal community chibihp was created. [2]
- The OddSlayersCouples mailing list in the Slayers fandom was dedicated to non-canon Slayers pairings. It was originally named Odd-Slayers-Couples, but was deleted and created under a new name on September 26, 2002 due to excessive spam.
- On September 26, 2003, the LiveJournal community herc_xena100 was founded as a Xena and Hercules drabble community. [3]
- On September 26, 2004, nicksara was founded on LiveJournal. It is a community dedicated to the Nick/Sara pairing. [4]
- On September 26, 2006, the GreatestJournal community cwshows was created. [5]
