Janeway/Chakotay fan fiction was really popular during the Star Trek: Voyager's original run on television. It continued to be popular despite Kate Mulgrew's insistence that it would never happen because such a relationship would be inappropiate.

While the Paris/Torres fan fiction community was centered around The Paris/Torres Collective, the Janeway/Chakotay community was centered around JetC. This included a number of mailing lists that were generally capped at about 30 members. There were senior lists, for members over 18 years of age, and junior lists, for younger members. These communities disappeared by 2002, although the larger JetCOcean, created by the merging of several JetC groups, is still somewhat active.

Dorothy Sayers was a write of mystery novels from the first half of the 20th century, and a member of the Sherlock Holmes Literary Society. Her own work has generated a tiny amount of fanfiction.

Cori Falls is thought to be the origin of all Weepy!Jessie and Manly!James Rocketshippy fic (this claim may be an exaggeration; Rocketshipping has been around since the very late 1990s and Cori didn't open her website until 2000), and was either worshipped or scorned during her time in the Pokemon fandom.

Her stories followed a timeline, which began innocently enough. They followed the canon of the anime and seemed tame enough save for OOC moments by the barrelful. But as time went on and as Cori became more and more disgusted by how canon treated her favorite characters, the stories broke away from canon more and more until Cori decided to wash her hands of the anime and follow her own ideals. That was when people started to roll their eyes, tear their hair out, and see her as a joke.

Anne Lewis was a fan fiction writer. She is known for being involved in the early Blake's 7 fandom, being the founder, with Ann Harding (later Mrs David Jackson) and Janet Ellicott, of the Liberator Popular Front, and co-organiser of the first Teal Vandor Convention. Her story, "The Initiation," appeared in 1978's Alternative Seven 1, one of the first adult Blake's 7 fanzines. She died in August 1982. Read more...

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing first aired in Japan in 1995, migrating to the United States first via fansubbed videotapes before being picked up for broadcast on Cartoon Network's Toonami block in March of 2000. While it is set in a universe very similar to that of the other multiple Gundam series, it is a separate and different take on the Gundam story and themes. Fans of the older Gundam series are usually not fans of Gundam Wing^{[citation needed]}, and there has been animosity noted between the bulk of Gundam fandom and the Gundam Wing fandom.
