- On February 8, 1991, The Simpsons premiered on television in Argentina. [1]
- On February 8, 1997, the Sailor Moon anime ended in Japan with its 200th and final episode.
- On February 8, 1998 Natasha Kashefipour started a message board named Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. This name will eventually be changed to The Acorn Café, and become the seat of the fandom to the present day.
