Forever Autumn
From Fan History Wiki
The first Starsky and Hutch slash fanzine was published, in England in 1980. It was titled Forever Autumn. It is an exaggeration to suggest that material like this caused a major uproar by some publishers in the fandom for fear that the actors and producers and networks would get a hold of the zines. (ksboyd@sfu.ca, Langley) In fact, the subject of slash had been well aired in the 'Purple Pages' (a slash supplement to the zine "Me and Thee") and the relaxed attitudes of both studio executives and actors were well-known at the time. American fans, however, were nervous of the possible reactions of both the 'Moral Majority' and their own friends and colleagues, repercussions which seemed less likely to ensue with a British publication.
