"Galbadia Hotel launched in summer 2005 as a side-project of Final Fantasy Shrine. Galbadia Hotel was originally intended to be a media site for all Final Fantasy related downloads we could get our hands on. Eventually we realized this was limiting the site's potential, and expanded to RPGs in general, and eventually the whole videogame industry." [1]
On June 29, 2008, the site was featured on clairvoyantwank. [2]

As of June 2008, the webmaster claimed the site was costing $2,000 a month to run. She was trying to help fund the site through user donations. [3][4][5][6]
