H. L. Moore was a member of the X-Files fan fiction community.

In November 1997, H. L. Moore, an X-Files fan fiction writer, had her story "Forgiven" plagiarized by a Silk Stalkings author. [1] The same Silk Stalkings plagiarist also stole Kipler's "How the Grinch Stole R'Hood."[2]
