- On December 9, 2001, Halo: Prince of Angels by Mac5 became the first Halo story published on FanFiction.Net. [1]

- On March 2, 2004, the LiveJournal community all_things_halo was created. [2]
- On October 20, 2004, the LiveJournal community haloenthusiasts was created. [3]
