From Fan History Wiki

There are a number of article boxes that can be added to the top and bottom of pages and sections, to tell people about the page, issues with the page, editing commentary and to encourage people to edit them. Below are some examples:

This article has been locked by an admin who is actively working to remove repeated vandalism and make the article comply with wiki policies. You can help by offering advice on the talk page.

Informs readers that an admin has locked the article because of ongoing issues with the article including bias issues, vandalism, spam. This box is used when the admin plans to do a major rewrite on the article to begin to address some of these issues.

[edit] Bias statements

This is a bias statement by a Fan History contributor. This contributor realizes that in writing about the history of fandom, there are topics for which they cannot write an unbiased history.

Informs readers that a user has vowed not edit certain parts of the wiki because of their own bias issues.

[edit] Deaths

This article is about a person who has recently died. Some information, such as that pertaining to the circumstances of the person's death and surrounding events, may change rapidly as more facts become known. There may be privacy issues that need to be addresses. Please contact a Fan History administrator if you discover any problems.

Informs readers that the article is about some one who recently passed away.

This article is a duplicate article. A contributor has requested that an administrator delete it.

Articles tagged with this warning are ones that should be deleted. When using it, please comment on the talk page so an administrator can figure out which article gets saved and which one gets deleted. If you need help merging information before an article is deleted, please include a comment to that effect.

This article or section may place too heavy an emphasis on fan fiction. Please improve the article by adding information.

Informs people that the article needs work because too heavy of an emphasis is placed on fan fiction. It can be improved by adding information about a fandom or person in areas other than fan fiction.

This article is written in two languages because the person or community discussed in the article is from a non-English community. It is written in English and Spanish. [edit] External critics of wiki, step up and edit

External criticism has been directed at this page regarding the lack of content or bias. Viewers are reminded that Fan History is a wiki. The responsibility for content belongs to the whole of the fandom community.

Informs people who are criticizing the article that they can edit the article to address their issues. By complaining off wiki and not editing it to their satisfaction, they are effectively taking responsibility and personal ownership of that problem. It informs the reader that those external critics are to blame for their assumption of bias and lack of content.

This article places too much emphasis on canon. Please improve the article by editing to focus on this subject's importance in fandom.

Articles tagged with this warning need to be rewritten to take the emphasis away from excessive canon details. Fan History is focused on the fandom and fan communities around various aspects of canon, and articles should only summarize canon as necessary to establish their fannish importance.

To explain that an article has been protected because of vandalism and that the only way it will likely be unlocked is if the person the article is about contacts a Fan History administrator, or an administrator feels enough time has passed that the article will unlikely be a target of further vandalism.
