Help:Dates
From Fan History Wiki
Fan History loves dates. This probably connects to Fan History being a history related wiki. Because of the love of dates, there are a number of templates and pages that deal with them.

Date Usage
Fan History uses the American dating convention: Month day comma year, Month year, etc.
List of Historical Anniversaries
List_of_historical_anniversaries is a page which contains a number of templates which was created to help do "This day in fandom history." Anyone can add information to the day specific timelines. If a page links to a date, ideally that date related information should then be included on specific day page. This information should also be mirrored on the Fanhistory.com:Selected_anniversaries page for that day.
Fanhistory.com:Convention/Calendar
Fanhistory.com:Convention/Calendar is the home for Fan History's convention and fandom event calendar. On it, you can add information regarding future convention and fan gathering dates.
Month Year
Template:Events by month links has a list of months and years. It is a table which shows which month year combos have pages and makes them all easily accessible. The month year pages should contain information on what happened in that month. This includes fanzines published, conventions held, community creation dates, canon release dates and summaries of any events that took place in the fandom.
Year
Pages for years should be prose, not list, formatted pages which summarize various events that took place in the community during that particular year. Each page should contain links to relevant pages about events that took place in that year. Examples for the 2007 page include:
- Canon released in 2007
- Conventions held in 2007
- Deaths in 2007
- Fan fiction archives founded in 2007
- Fanzines published in 2007
- InsaneJournal asylums founded in 2007
- LiveJournal communities founded in 2007
