A goal of Fan History is to create a comprehensive directory of episodes and fan artifacts created in response to episodes. In doing this, there are a number of issues that wiki contributors and users should be aware of in regards to these pages.
The article
The article should contain the name of the episode followed by the series name in (parentheses).
The article should initially follow, in some form, the episode template. This is to make the article formatting consistent. As the article grows, the format can change to better suit the needs of the specific fan community it belongs to. For example, an older show may want to include a section about zines that were inspired by the episode. For anime, people way want to link to the manga that the episode is based on.
Episode summary
The episode summary section is for just that. It should include a summary of what happened in the episode. If you are using summaries from other locations, please make sure you cite the source.
Behind the scenes
This section is for things that happened off screen during the production of the episode. It can include such details as information on early drafts of the scripts, tensions between various actors, information on where producers and writers wanted to go with certain relationships or characters
Fan reaction
This should include a summary of most of the links below. How did fans react to the episode? Did they like it? Did it challenge any fanon? Did they protest online?
An example of one fan reaction in response to an episode of CSI was increased speculation about Jorja Fox being pregnant. Another episode of CSI led to fans of Grissom/Catherine complaining to the producers about pro Grissom/Sara spoilers that did not work in their ship's favor. Another example of fan reaction to an episode is where some House M.D. fans getting angry about spoilers.
The purpose is to document how fans reacted to the episode.
Fan art
This section is for fan art that was created in response to the episode. The piece of art should link include an external link to it. The artist name should be wikified.
Fan fiction
This section is for fan fiction that was created in response to the episode. The piece of fan fiction should link include an external link to it. The author name should be wikified.
Fanvids
This section is for fanvids that were created in response to the episode. The fanvid should link include an external link to it. The vidder's name should be wikified.
Episode discussion
This section is for links to discussions about the episode. Discussion links should be dated and include information regarding what site or community the discussion took place on.
Misc links
Misc links are for links related to the episode that do not fit in other categories. This would include search links, links to place you can view the episode, etc. Many articles that were created by User:ROFLCOPTER have created a number of Misc links already.
Categories
Episode articles should be in the a category based on the show they are from. For example, an episode of CSI should be in Category:CSI episodes.
If there has been kerfluffle over the episode, it may also be appropriate to include it in a kerfluffle related category.
