Rescue Rangers fandom help guide
The following guide offers advice for how to edit articles in Category:Rescue Rangers and its subcategories. Please consult this guide before contributing to articles related to Rescue Rangers or your edits may be reverted by administrators.
RangerWiki
Fan History has a semi-formal relationship with Ranger Wiki. The extent of this relationship is that some content is mirrored on both wikis and interwiki linking is enabled. Beyond this, Fan History has no relationship with Ranger Wiki. Our relationship with Ranger Wiki should not be seen as an endorsement of their fandom politics.
Interwiki linking:
'Fan History Wiki has interwiki linking setting up with RangerWiki. Interwiki links can be set up by adding ranger: in front of links designed to point at the Rescue Ranger Wiki. Interwiki linking for Ranger Wiki should only be done when the links point to information about canon. Interwiki linking should not be done when the content that there is a desire to be linked to falls under the scope of Fan History's mission. For example, linking to information about the DVDs can be done using interwiki linking while interwiki linking cannot be done for an article about a member of the fandom.
External linking:
Rescue Rangers fans are encouraged to cite Ranger Wiki when documenting the history of the fandom where Ranger Wiki has relevant information. Rescue Ranger fans are also encouraged to add links in the links section of articles where applicable.
Content mirroring:
A number of articles are mirrored from RangerWiki. Articles that are mirrored should have the following code put on the top of the article: {{RangerWiki mirror}}
This adds a text box which looks like:
| | This article mirrored on RangerWiki at Rescue Rangers. When editing this article, please make the same changes on ranger:Main Page. If you feel that the mirror violates Fan History's rules and privacy policy, please comment on the talk page .

General rules
The Rescue Rangers article and category has a history of vandalism, article blanking, and neutral point of view issues. Because of this, a subset of rules that apply to this category exist:
- Before any major edits are made, where sections are removed, where organization is changed, or large amounts of information is being added, the contributor needs to comment on the article's talk page to explain the rational behind doing this.
- Templates for sub pages should be used except in cases where the content is being mirrored from RangerWiki. Exceptions will be allowed where an explanation is offered as to why the deviation is needed.
- Unlike parts of media fandom, the Rescue Rangers community appears to use real names as a general rule. Real name usage will not be a reason that will be accepted for article deletion requested.
- If you are mentioned on RangerWiki, you will be considered notable and deletion requests for articles about you will not be honored unless the admins can be convinced that the article on RangerWiki post dates or dates to the creation of an article about you on Fan History or Fan History admins view the article creation on RangerWiki as grudge wank about a non-notable member of the fandom.
Episode articles
Articles dedicated to episodes can be found in Category:Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers episodes. All articles about episodes should have the following naming convention: Episode name (Rescue Rangers).
Article episodes are created mostly to house internal links to content off wiki about fan responses to an episode. This includes links to fan fiction, fan vids, fan art inspired by that episode, and fan response to the article. Short explanations can be included in each section which give more information on why a response was a certain way. If this is written, sources should always be used and weasel words should be avoided.
The article box is where non-fandom information should be included. Canon related information can also be included in the Credits, Episode Summary, Memorable Quotes, and Behind The Scenes sections. These sections should never be larger than the Rescue Ranger fandom related sections. If that information overwhelms that section, they will be trimmed back. The first priority should be in developing the fandom parts of those articles.
Character articles
Articles about characters are designed for fan communities that revolve around the character rather than the fandom as a hole. Information on the article can be found on the main article. If it is, it should also be found on the character article.
