Hobbit Smut is a LiveJournal that ran 22 writing challenges between May, 2004 and November, 2006. Writers of Lord of the Rings slash and het fic involving hobbits could join and write for the community on an invitation-only basis. The community still exists as a fic archive where posts cannot be added or edited.

• The idea for Hobbit Smut came about in discussions between fans at the Gathering of the Fellowship in Toronto in December 2003. [1]
