Born in Russia to Jewish parents, Isaac Asimov was an American author as well as professor of biochemistry. He is best known for his works of science fiction and his popular science books. He is considered one of the most prolific writers of all time, considered with Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke, to be one of the "Big Three" science-fiction writers during his lifetime.
