JLU 2001 was created to be similar to the MV1 Fanfiction Project. The site

is a collection of shared-continuity stories beginning after a certain point in DC continuity (specifically, after JLA #4). Based initially around the Justice League of America, the project has a number of ongoing and anthology series and always a number of projects in the making. These stories are written by fans, for fans, and the project is continually growing in size. [1]
