- In 1997, Guide Posts was founded. It was the "original" Sentinel gen fan fiction archive. The archive stopped adding new stories in January of 2002. It had over 3,000 stories archived.
- By 1999, badfic must have been floating around the Dawson's Creek community because in January of 1999, niviene posted an announcement to alt.tv.space-cases that he was starting a badfic site which would mock Space Cases, X-Files and Dawson's Creek.
- On January 21, 1999, the Xena subtext mailing list xenaandgabtheology was created. [1]
