Jen Chism was a member of the X-Files fan fiction community. Jen Chism's "Always and Forever," a Mulder-death story, which was posted January 5, 1995, predated Idria Barone Knecht's "Madman Across the Water". According to Idria, "Always and Forever" was the story that inspired her.
