[edit] Fan fiction policy and history
Found in the alt.books.david-weber FAQ is a line that seems to indicate that this author is not tolerant of fan fiction. That line is as follows:
- I checked with my attorney when the matter first came up for me a couple of years ago, however, and he confirms what Baen, Misty, Roger Zelazny, Fred Saberhagen, and several other pros had all told me on previous occasions. With that much experienced opinion on one side of the question, I see no choice but to believe they know what they're talking
- about. [1]
On a side note, this comment may apply to BAEN, the publisher, not Jim Baen as an author.
